Don't hold back yourself! Do your thing!

INDEPENDENCE...I LOVE IT

According to my previous post entitled “Enlightment”, I stated that I was contemplating moving out to my own place. Well, I just did that early this year. It is coolJ. Of course I will not tell you the exact place I am staying- for security reasons. I will, however, let you know how it is like living by yourself.

 At the outskirts of Nairobi, is a small apartment- a bed-sitter, my place. I really struggled looking for it. I had, however, made up my mind that I had to find my own place before I completed school (Yes, am finally done with my undergrad). Going back to my parents’ house was not an option. It was not even in my mind.

I moved my stuff to my small apartment as soon as I acquired it. I bought a bed and a mattress (-very expensive). I paid my bills- electricity and water (both pre-paid). What I really liked (and still do) about my house was the hot shower. I couldn’t wait to take a shower from my house.

My first night in my house was cool. I had managed to buy a TV on that day and I was eager to watch and take the hot shower. I was very scared though. I was worried about my security (am no longer scared, I have cool neighbours who look out for each other).  I slept at 10:00pm. The night was great, I had a goodnight sleep. It was far much better than the nights at school or even at my parents’ house.

The first morning was cool. It was a public holiday and I was not in a hurry to wake up, although I still woke up early (I am a morning person). I took the hot shower- lasted for around 45 minutesJ. Unfortunately, I had not bought cooking gas and I had to go to a restaurant for breakfast.

Basically, I love the independence…I love the fact that I can do that which I want to do whenever I want to do. There’s no one to bug me about their stuff or doing my duties. I love the fact that I have my own space and my own privacy.  I can decide what I’ll have for lunch or supper. If I leave money on the table, I will still find there.

If I want to stay up late watching TV or studying, I can do so without interfering with anyone. I pay for my own bills and I buy my own assets. I don’t depend on anyone (except for God).

I make my own rules in my house. I decide what should be done and what should not be done in my house. One of the rules of my house that I like is: "No alien is allowed in my house- not even a plumber; I will do it myself". I am in control of my house. I actually bought a book titled "Total Control" by David Baldacci. It is the book that I am currently reading. I love the book.

All this independence comes at a cost. The costs include the fact that I have to pay rent and other utilities. I have to take care of my health by eating healthy food and dressing warmly. I still want to further my studies - that means that I have to save for my education-my future. At the same time, I need more assets for my house. This is where the Accounting, Economics and Finance I learnt in school comes in. I have to budget for every single dime that I have. That is not fun at allL.

If I leave my house in a mess, I will still find it in the same state. There's no one to pick after me. Its ok. I like that.

I had mosquitoes disturbing me during the initial stages of my independence. I have, however, sorted that out...I have a mosquito net. No more mosquitoes.

 With all the pros and cons that come with independence, heck I love it. I love it. I enjoy every day of my life. I know that I have only one life and that it is too short, I have to live it to the fullest. 

WORKING...WORKING HARD...WORKING REAL HARD!!!

Do you think that success requires hard work? Maybe you are not going to like this, but for me, I definitely think that success does require you to work hard.

Sometimes it is true that you can work smart instead of working hard to get what you want. If you can work smart and spend only 1 hour to get what you want, guess what kind of results you are going to get if you can spend 2 hours into doing it? Highly likely, you are going to get more out of it.

It is great when you think about spending little effort to produce outstanding results, but if this is true, then most of us here would be rich and successful. The reason most people are not achieving what they want in their lives is because they are not working hard enough.

By working hard, I mean that spending quality time that will produce you the results that you are looking for. Some people work 10 hours a day, however, they are not very productive simply because they spend most of their time doing something that is not going to take them where they want to go.

Life Is Short, So Work Harder

Yes, life is short, so you have to work harder. Everyone has 24 hours a day no matter who you are. Therefore, stop wasting time and start to pursue for what you really want. Close your eyes now and think about what you have accomplished so far this year.

Do you want to be the same by the end of 2012? Do you want to achieve your goals, live a prosper life, be more successful, be richer by the end of 2012? If you do, you have to work hard from now on.

If you look at all the successful people out there, they all are very hard working. They work on their goals and put in effort to build their dreams a lot more than ordinary people. Look at Donald Trump when he is at his peak. He works on his deals and put in so many hours into his business. Sometimes he will think about his deals even late in the night and can’t wait to go to the office to get his work done.

The same goes for Ray Kroc, the guy who built McDonald’s into a billion-dollar business. If you read his autobiography, you will also understand that he works like crazy to build his business. The time when he is setting up his first McDonald’s, he is still holding a full time job. Thus, he has to wake up a lot earlier than normal people to go to his restaurant, and he has to come to work on it again after office hour. This is how and why extraordinary people are able to produce amazing results in their lives.

Decide To Work Harder From Now On

I know some of you may have the thought saying that you do not have the time or I may not understand your schedule. Let me tell you this, no matter how busy you are right now, you can always find time to take action and work on your dreams.

You can tell me that you are working during weekdays and you may want to accompany your family at night. Let me share with you another real story of a successful guy named Ewen Chia. He is a very successful internet marketer and now he is enjoying all the passive incomes from the internet.

When he first started his internet business, he is holding a full-time job. And guess what, he also need to spend time being with his family after work. So how did he find the time to build his internet business? Ewen spend his time to build his online empire from 11pm to 3am everyday. Don’t be surprised because this is the kind of desire and commitment that most successful people have when they focus on their dreams.

Yes, you need to sacrifice your time to pursue your dreams. If you are not reading this article right now, most likely you are surfing internet for other stuff of maybe you are playing games, or chatting or playing Facebook. You see, you are spending your time every second, it is just a matter of whether you are spending your time into something un-resourceful or you are investing time into building your dreams.

So use your time wisely and decide to work harder from now on. You do not have to wait until something happen only to start, you can always choose to start right now.

There are tons and tons of success stories out there and there are many great examples. All of the great people spend most of their time working on their dreams. They work hard to achieve their goals and make their dreams a reality. So this is also what you need to do.

Work Smart VS Work Hard

Why do you want to choose between work hard and work smart? Just do both! Work hard and in the same time, work smart!

This is exactly what you need to do to prosper in your business. Spend time working on your dreams. And then try to spend a little extra to find out how you can work lesser to produce the same amount of time. After that, just continue to be creative and work harder to create the results that you want with lesser time.

A lot of people are trying to make money from the stock market, forex or through the power of internet. Yes, it is true that you can make money from these medium, but you will also need to work on the strategies and take the right action to earn the money from there. Take internet marketing for example, you need to first learn the strategies of how to do it, and then take action to create the income that you want. The same if you are trying to invest in the stock market. You will need to study the market and do the necessary analysis.

There is no one-click and you will become the next millionaire kind of thing. If this kind of software or program does exist, why do the people who created it need to sell it to you in the first place? If they would like to help you to become the next millionaire, ask them to give the program or tool to you free of charge instead since they are helping people.

So What Should You Do Right Now?

The answer is pretty simple. I believe that when you read until this point, you will already know what you need to do. You just need to make the decision right now to do it and take action right away.

Start taking action and make your dreams come true now. Put in more time and effort into your goals and do it right now!

Barrack and Michelle Obama went out for coffee to a restaurant. Barrack noted that the restaurant owner was talking to Michelle as if they had known each other before. This conversation went on between Michelle and Barrack (of course in the absence of the restaurant owner).



Barrack: Oh, do you know him?
Michelle: Yes I do. He was once my boyfriend.
Barrack: Hehe... that means that you could have been a restaurant owner's wife, that is if he married you.
Michelle: No, he would have been the president if he married me.
              I would have made sure that he would have become the president of the US.

How Bad Do You Want It?

There was a young man, you know, who wanted to make a lot of money and so he went to this guru, right. And he told the guru you know I wanna be on the same level you are and the guru said if you wanna be on the same level I’m on, I’ll met you tomorrow at the beach.

So the young man got there 4 A.M. he already to rock n’ roll. Got on a suit should of wore shorts. The old man grabs his hand and said: How bad do you wanna be successful? He said: “Real bad”. He said: Walk on out in the water. So he walks out into the water. When he walks out to the water he goes waist deep and goes like this guy is crazy.

I don’t know how many of you all got asthma here today? If you ever had a asthma attack before your short of breath S.O.B shortness of breath, you wheezing  the only thing you trying to do is get some air. You don’t care about no basketball game, you don’t care about what’s on T.V., you don’t care about nobody calling you, you don’t care about a party. The only thing you care about when you trying to breathe is to get some fresh air. That’s it! And when you get to the point where all you wanna do is be is successful as bad as you wanna breathe then you will be successful.
 And I’m here to tell you that number one, most of you say you wanna be successful but you don’t want it bad, you just kind of want it.

You don’t want it bad than you wanna party. You don’t want it as much as you want to be cool. Most of you don’t want success as much as you want sleep. Some of you lost sleep more than you lost success. And I’m here to tell you today, if your going to be successful you gotta be willing to give up sleep. You gotta be willing to work with 3 hours of sleep – 2 hours of sleep, if you really wanna be successful. Some day your gonna have to stay up 3 days in a row. Because if you go to sleep you might miss the opportunity to be successful. That’s how bad you gotta want to be successful.

You gotta want to be successful so bad that you forget to eat. 50 Cent was doing his movie, I did a little research on 50 and 50 said: that when he wasn’t do the movie he was doing the soundtrack. And they said: “When do you sleep?” 50, and 50 said: “Sleep, sleep is for those people who are broke. I don’t sleep.” See I got an opportunity to make my dream become a reality. Don’t cry to quits. You already in pain, you already hurt. Get a reward from it. Don’t go to sleep until you succeed.

If you are going to be successful, you gotta give up sleep. You gotta want to be successful so bad that you forget to eat. Sleep is for those people who are broke. Don't try to quit, don't go to sleep until you succeed. I want success as much as I need air to breath. I am willing to give up sleep. If I go to sleep, I will miss the opportunity to be successful.

A new year with new fears.

I thank God for keeping us alive this far. I am particularly thankful for a brand new year. This year,2012, comes with alot of uncertainty. This is especially because of the forthcoming elections. I am afraid. I don't know what to expect.

I was listening to Samuel Kivuitu (former ECK chairman) when he was being interviewed by NTV last week. When prompted whether he was responsible for the post-election violence in 2007-2008, he said that post-election violence happens after every five years.

The major difference with that violence was that it was publicized by the international media companies and the foreigners. This really shocked me. Does this mean that we should prepare upfront for a war that is forthcoming?

I am afraid, I am really afraid. All we can do is to pray about the whole situation. Please be careful, my fellow Kenyans. Don't allow yourself to be used by the greedy politicians. Take care of your brothers and sisters. Do not attack innocent people.
