DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Wanting to Leave, Yet Not Safe To Stay ~ Laura Buzawa

Shadows
       Oh her sad, vacant face
Bruises
Hid by a coat of skin colored denial
Not wanting to leave
      Where could she go?
Not safe to stay
      Did she do something wrong?
Not wanting to leave
He's the only one who loves me
Not safe to stay
      Obviously its her fault
He's so upset
      Not wanting to leave
Its not like anyone would listen anyways
      Not wanting to leave
It's not like anyone would listen always
      Not wanting to leave
Who would believe a small passive voice over the charming good boy (the facade hiding the ugly monster  introduced after our brief euphoria of magic)

Not safe to stay
This time not just for her, but for the life within her womb
Not wanting to leave
       But he loves her
What to do?
       She only knows two things:
She doesn't want to leave
But its not safe to stay.

  1. She probably doesn't have the finances to support herself and the life inside her, that's why she doesn't want to leave, but its not safe to stay. What to do? This is the predicament that most women face.

  2. I think she can talk to a true friend, close relative whom she can confide to or a therapist for assistance in this part.

  3. It is a very sad poem that affects some of us in our past. However, sadness and desperation dressed in gown of love is fatal than a head on accident. My point is that we Men need to treat Women with the respect that they deserve. This will end the chase for cute ladies massacre which has hit the roofs of realism and flown into the pot of insanity. This will reduce rape cases, divorces, dogging in relationships, unwanted pregnancies and HIV.
To turn the coin on the other side, women need to do more than men. It is asking too much from ladies to tell them to dress decently, I know. There is the money factor which I have noted is contributing to greater priblems than the latter. Women should know that money with out love leads to a cancer called BROKEN FAMILY. You can continue to live in a broken family as long as you get what you wanted(money).
Not looking like I am a Chauvinist, the ultimate advice is that we need to link with our Lord God to guide us about relationships. Our friends will also help a great deal.
When it is not safe think twice, may be we are expecting the worst(homicide).
